Customer requirements
Chem Arrow was recently approached by a manufacturer of steering components for the all-terrain vehicle and snowmobile industry.
They had been experiencing short sump life, resulting in unacceptable downtime and increasing disposal costs. The customer experienced foaming issues with their previous coolant due to high-pressure transfer lines (1200 psi).
Solution
After a thorough lab analysis, Chem Arrow recommended ArrowCool SOL-827 to replace the previous coolant across the entire plant. The customer was machining aluminum products on Mori Seiki lathes, mills and transfer lines using deionized water. Chem Arrow recommended a 7% concentration mix to ensure optimum performance and cleanliness of the machine.
“We have been extremely impressed with ArrowCool SOL-827. It has eliminated our foaming issues and kept our machines clean. The advice and professionalism of the Chem Arrow team made the process run very quickly and smoothly…”
The introduction of ArrowCool SOL-827 eliminated the foam issues and machines were found to stay extremely clean. The overall usage of the product was reduced as compared to the previous product.
ArrowCool SOL-827 provided exceptional tool life and surface finish on the forged aluminum ATV components. The switch to ArrowCool SOL-827 resulted in over $100,000 dollars per year in cost savings and has eliminated the unscheduled production problems, reduced usage and minimized waste disposal.
Final Results
